Some History

The Clover Valley Farmers’ Market (CVFM) has operated a successful Farmers’ Market for over 22 years.
Located at 411 McIrvine Road in Fort Frances (right behind Canadian Tire and across from the Fort Frances High School), its distinctive red building is a hive of activity year round.

May to October, it’s a regular Saturday Farmers’ Market with operating hours of 9am - 1pm. November and December the Clover Valley Farmers’ Market becomes a local foods and craft store running multiple days a week.

There are specialty markets at other times of the year – Seedy Saturday in February where visitors purchase or trade seeds to get ready for the spring planting season, and the ever popular Easter Market with Ukrainian Easter eggs and Easter breads available for purchase.

April 2011

• April 30: Opening Day with Bulk Maple Syrup. Bring your own container.
  

May 2011

• May 7: Mother’s Day Weekend/Agricultural Awareness will be joining us.
• May 14: Perennial Day/ Stewardship Council will be selling seedlings/ Other Visitors include Salt and Pepper, Kim Jo Bliss’s sheep.
• May 21: Bedding Plant Day
• May 28: Mini-Horses visit the Market.

• June 18: Father’s Day ~ Find the perfect present for Dad. Fresh baking, steaks for the BBQ or homemade preserves.

• July 2: Canada Day Long Weekend ~ Bring out the red and white at the Market.
• July 16: Flower Festival ~ Fort Frances Horticultural Society hosting “Make & Take”. Come and learn how to make that perfect flower arrangement. All proceeds go to supporting the work of the Society.
• July 23: Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship ~ While waiting for the boats to come in for the final weigh-in, stop by the Market.
• July 30: Long Weekend Specials ~ See how the Market celebrates a long weekend.

August 2011

• August 6: Flower & Vegetable Show ~ View the winners from the Fort Frances Horticultural Society Annual Show. Come the week before and learn how you can enter yourself!

• October 8: Thanksgiving Saturday ~ Great food for Thanksgiving dinner. Delicious perogies, cabbage rolls, hams, pies, great garden veggies. Learn about apples at the Agricultural Awareness display.
